President Goodluck Jonathan hosted the Nigerian Paralympics delegates and The Falconets for dinner at the State House Abuja on Saturday, 15th September 2012. At the dinner, Mr President announced N5 million cash reward for Paralympic Gold; N3 million for Silver and N2 million for Bronze winners respectively! Other Paralympians who did not win any medal will receive a cash prize of N500, 000 only. Falconets will get N1 million each for their tremendous outing in Japan earlier this month where they lost out to the eventual winners, United States in the Semi-finals. In addition to the cash award of N5 million, each Paralympic Gold medalist will be confered with a national honour – MON. The officials of the Falconets team and Paralympics team will pocket N2.5million each for their efforts.
