In Basketball, San Antonio spurs star, Tony Parker had a quiet game as the French beat Nigeria’s D’Tigers 79-73 to book a place in the Quarter-finals as second seed. Nicolas Batum scored 23 points and Mickael Gelabale added 11points while Chamberlain Oguchi had 35 points and 3 rebounds for Nigeria. American-born Seun Adigun ran the 100m hurdles for Nigeria in 13.56 seconds thus failing to qualify for the semi-finals. Muziat Ajoke Odumosu emerged as the winner for the semi-finals race, giving us hope again for a medal by qualifying for the 400m hurdles finals. Nadzeda Torpolova of Russia defeated Ogoke Edith 18-8, an Olympic record, in the women’s middleweight 75kg Quarter-finals.
