D’ Tigers coach, Alex Nwora, has assured fans that the Nigeria senior men’s basketball team will bag a ticket for the finals of the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China. Nigeria has been drawn with hosts Mali, Uganda and Rwanda for the FIBA qualifiers, which is scheduled to run from the 23rd of February 2018 until the 25th of the same month. D’Tigers will have to be at their top performance to breeze through the qualification round. It may be a tasking run, seeing as the squad is missing some important players. Coach Nwora has admitted that getting the players was quite difficult for the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF), due to the new qualification format and because a lot of players are busy in their various clubs. Nwora told the NBBF media department; “It was tough to getting key players with leagues across the world already in full swing,” “Active players in their respective clubs, who are available have been invited to represent Nigeria. We have a very formidable team that I believe will sail through during the qualifiers.” The 2019 FIBA World Cup will hold in China from August 31 to September 15, 2019.   Featured Image Credit: www.completesportsnigeria.com
