The death of 70 people in a Kenyan shopping mall has continued to attract prayers just as the world continues mourning. Sam Adebanjo, Nigerian gospel musician, has recorded a tribute titled
Prayer for Africa and dedicated to the memory of the lives lost in the attack.
Adebanjo, a MOBO nominee explained that the tragedy in Kenya is felt globally and it is the inspiration for the song which highlights the need for prayers in the face of increasing violence across the continent. “Over the years and currently, we see civil wars and war is still going on in parts of Africa,” he said, adding that “What Africa needs is prayer.”
Adebanjo hopes that the song, which is produced by Grammy Award nominee, Steven Abramsamadu, would inspire a desire to change among people.
Sam Adebanjo is fast becoming a household name in the United Kingdom Gospel Music scene. He converted into Christianity from Islam and after running into trouble with the law. He is the principal of the Urban Gospel music group,
Desire to Worship God (DTWG) and is passionate about changing the society through music. “I have seen the negative effect certain genre of music has had on many people I grew up with,” he says.

Prayer for Africa, is available for download on iTunes, Amazon, Google play and all other major download sites.
According to a statement from Proceeds of the single will go to charity to help the families affected by the attacks and support other charities in Africa.
