As part of its commitment to social investment in education, Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the NLNG Post Graduate Scholarship Scheme, specifically for Master’s degree programs in the United Kingdom starting in September 2024. The scheme aims to cultivate a pool of high-potential Nigerian graduates and professionals equipped with a competitive advantage.

Who Can Apply?

  • Applicants must be citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, residing in Nigeria, and committed to returning to Nigeria after completing their studies.
  • Must have graduated from a public university in Nigeria.
  • Completion of one year of compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is mandatory.
  • Not be recipients of any other scholarship award, bursary, or grant from any other organization.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence and strong leadership abilities.
  • Must possess a clear vision of how their studies will benefit their chosen field and Nigeria.
  • Have no familial relationship with staff members of Nigeria LNG Limited, including spouses, children, wards, or direct relations.

Benefits

This scholarship scheme was launched in October 2012 with an annual intake of 15 beneficiaries for studies in leading UK universities. The value of the scholarship is $67,500 per awardee per study. However, the actual spend per awardee ranges from $45,000 to $67,500, depending on the course of study.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have provisional admission from the University of Wolverhampton for any of the following programs: MSc Civil Engineering, MSc Computer Science, MSc Information Technology Management, LLM International Business Law, MSc Mechanical Engineering, and MPH Public Health.
  • Graduated with a minimum of Second Class Honours, upper division (2:1) in a relevant field of study.
  • Completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
  • Must have a minimum IELTS score of 8.0 (with not less than 7.0 in each element), OR a TOEFL score of 102, OR a Pearson Test of English Language (PTE) score of 73-79.
  • Should not be more than 30 years of age at the time of application.
  • Must possess an international passport valid for travel for at least one year from September 2024.
  • Able to obtain a UK Tier-4 student visa if successful.
  • Must possess a domiciliary bank account (GBP and USD) with either GT Bank or First Bank for use if successful.

Application Procedure

All applications MUST include scanned and uploaded copies of the following documents:
  • Recent passport photograph without glasses (not more than 3 months old)
  • International passport bio-data page
  • First-degree certificate
  • NYSC Discharge certificate
  • Provisional admission letter from the University of Wolverhampton
  • IELTS result
  • Local Government Area (LGA) letter of identification
  • Employer consent letter (where applicable)
