Nigerian movies have become very popular in cinemas, and highly sought after among movie goers. The following movies currently top the list of movies to watch this weekend.

Bound

Due to be released in cinemas this weekend, the movie stars Rita Dominic, Eyinna Nwigwe, Joyce Kalu, Nicole Banner, Duke Emmanuel, Neye Balogun. It was produced by Lilian Afegbai and directed by Frank Rajah.
It is a Romantic story about a beautiful 35 year-old career woman, Chinenye (Rita Dominic) who is reproached by her family and friends for remaining unmarried. Elochukwu (Eyinna Nwigwe) continues to love her unconditionally and stand by her through her indecisiveness and commitment phobia. Unknown to everyone, She battles spiritual, emotional and physical forces making her emotionally unable to keep a dedicated relationship, no matter how hard she tries.
The star actress and her c0-stars brought their A-game to this one, having recently berated substandard Nollywood movies being shown in the cinema.  

June

June is a romance comedy that tells a story of a wedding planner in her mid-thirties (Michelle Dede) hired by a spoiled bride (Toni Tones) to plan her wedding, while the she is constantly nagged by her family for still being single, and hoping for a lifetime commitment from her longtime boyfriend. She is torn between loyalty to her client and holding unto the love she has long sought after, when the husband-to-be falls head over heels in love with her.
June features, Uche jumbo, Empress Njamah, Toni Tones, Michelle Dede among others, and is directed by Desmond Elliot.

  • Memoirs Of 4 – Four ladies bonded by their struggle to overcome the pressures brought on them by society.
 
  • Crushed – A lady whose newly married life becomes a nightmare after she is visited by her past.
 
  • Disguise – IK Ogbonna and Nancy Isime disguise as the opposite sex in order to find out what they (women and men) really want.
