  Hilda Dokubo is a renowned Nollywood actress, producer, youth advocate, model and television personality. She was born and bred in Buguma, a community in Asari-Toru in Rivers state. She is the firstborn in a family of six children.

Educational Background

Hilda Dokubo had her primary education at the St. Mary State school, Aggrey Road and Government Girls secondary school both in Rivers state. After obtaining her first school leaving and secondary school certificates respectively, Dokubo went to the University of Port Harcourt to a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts. She again went to the same University to have a Master’s degree in the same discipline.

Her Acting Career

Dokubo joined the Nigerian Movie Industry in 1992, the same year she did her one-year mandatory National youth service (NYSC). She acted her first movie, “Evil Passion”, a movie that shot to fame and recognition in Nollywood. She starred in another hit movie “Stigma” in 2005. The movie was very popular and  brought her huge commercial earnings. The same movie won her an award for best actress in a supporting role at the 11th African Academy Awards and best female actress in Nigeria at the 12th Abuja International Film Festival. She is such a beautiful, creative and exceptionally talented Nollywood actress. She is gifted at interpreting movie roles and she can do it brilliantly well. She can as well accept any character assigned her in most movies. Dokubo is known to cry in most tragic or sorrowful movies. She is a prolific Nollywood actress with over 150 movies to her credit. Some of her movies include: Sweet Mother, End of the Wicked, Black Maria, A Barber’s Wisdom, Above Death, My Love, Jezebel, Forever, Evil Passion, In God We Trust, Stigma, Unfaithful, 21 Days with Christ, Gone Forever, The CEO, Light and Darkness, My Good Will among others.

Hilda Dokubo is one of the strong pillars and pioneers of Nollywood. Infact, Nollywood cannot be complete without the mention of this veteran actress who many described as a living legend. She is one of the key players in the movie industry in Nigeria. Dokubo is a youth advocate. She was appointed special adviser on Youth affairs to former Rivers State governor, Dr. Peter Odili.
