  The shocking events that unfolded last week have sent many spiralling into despair. From the unfortunate Lekki Toll Gate massacre to the lacklustre presidential speech, and the present situation of the country is enough to demoralise the average Nigerian.

At this point, it is safe to say that Nigerians still have a long way to go in their fight against injustice. However, that doesn’t mean we must lose hope. Whether we triumph in this battle and succeed in building a better country is largely dependent on our ability to persevere through the trying times. A great way to uplift ourselves is to remember that there is always a way forward in any situation. Even in a situation that seems so bleak, we can prevail as long as we don’t give up.
