Microsoft Edge replaced Internet Explorer as the default web browser for Windows devices when Microsoft launched Windows 10, and the Edge browser has evolved greatly over the years, and now competes auspiciously with big rivals like Chrome and Firefox. And to ensure that PC users everywhere can experience Edge on all devices, the Redmond giant has made a cross-platform mobile app for the Edge browser. Hence, Microsoft Edge is now available on Android and iOS.
The Edge app brings familiar desktop features like Favourites, Reading List, New Tab Page and Reading View. The good part is that all of your content (passwords, bookmarks, history, favorites) are synced across your devices. So, whenever you return to your PC, you can pick up from where you left off.
The niftiest feature of the mobile Edge browser is the ‘Continue on PC’ feature which enables you to send the webpage you’re browsing on your mobile phone to your PC, and it’ll immediately open in the Edge browser on your PC. All the days of typing links of pages open in your phone into your PC browser are over, you can now open the webpage on your PC, without typing a word.
Microsoft Edge offers a very convenient way to browse the internet on mobile, and seamlessly sync all your info across all your devices. You can also find, view, and share content effortlessly with the built-in QR Code Reader.
To be able to use ‘Continue on PC’, you need to have the latest Windows 10 Fall Creators Update installed on your computer.
Check out the article on the update for more info on how to upgrade.
