  Rabo was born in Tadmum, Bogoro, Bauchi State on 21 June 1961. He started his education at Tadmum Primary School from 1967 to 1975. He attended Gindiri Boys Secondary School, Plateau State from 1975 to 1980. Rabo preceded to Ahmadu Bello University where he studied Veterinary Medicine from 1980 to 1986.

From 1988 to 1990, he lectured at the University of Ibadan; then the University of Maiduguri from 1995 to 1999; and in 2001, he graduated from International Livestock Research Institute. He eventually became a professor of veterinary medicine and He currently serves as the vice-chancellor of Federal University Wukari, Taraba State, Nigeria.

Career

Rabo started his academic career as an assistant lecturer at the University of Maiduguri from 1987 to 1990. He became lecturer II from 1990 to 1992; a lecturer 1 from 1992 to 1995. He became a senior lecturer from 1995 to 1998 and later became an associate professor. In 2001, he was promoted to a full professor in the Department of Veterinary Pathology, University of Maiduguri. He was head of the diagnostic unit (pathology), veterinary teaching hospital, University of Maiduguri. From 1995 to 2005, he was Deputy Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Head of Department of Veterinary Pathology at the University of Maiduguri. Rabo moved to the University of Agriculture, Makurdi and served as Head, Veterinary Teaching Hospital, and Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academics.

Professor Rabo is a Member of Several progressional bodies which include: Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association, Veterinary Council of Nigeria, College of Veterinarian Surgeons, and Technical Associate, International Livestock Research Institute, Nairobi, Kenya. He has won several awards: Prize Award for the best final year student in Agricultural Science and Biology in Secondary School; Federal Government Post Graduate Scholarship Award, 1988-89; Fellowship Award/Study Leave, University Of Maiduguri, 1988-90; Technical Associate, International Livestock Research Institute, Nairobi, Kenya, Sponsored by Vienna, 2001; Elected Nominee, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for Annual Merit Award by the Federal Military Government.

In addition, He has won in 1995; CAB$ 1,000 Award for an Article on Bakesia; Cultural and Serological Studies on Yesinia Enterecolitica Infection in Slaughtered Sheep and Goats in Nigeria, Zariya Veterinary, vol.32, .58-61,1988; Studies on a Field Outbreak of Fatty Liver Syndrome in Caged Laying Chickens in the Semi-Arid Zone of Nigeria, Annals of  Bruccei in Infected Rats, Nigerian Journal of Animal Production, vol. 12, pp. 142-144,1994; Outbreak of Bovine Babesiosis in Monguno Local Govt.
