Born in Modesto, California, USA, on June 14th, 1996, to a Nigerian father, Franklyn Vincent, and an American mother, Cynthia Vincent, the D’Tigers star played college basketball from 2014-2018 for the University of California Santa Barbara. After graduating from the university, Vincent was with the Sacramento Kings on a pre-draft workout, and after failing to make the 2018 NBA Draft, the Nigerian-American on October 2, 2018, signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Sacramento Kings before being waived a few days later. During the 2018-2019 season, Vincent featured for the G-League side, Stockton Kings with an average of 8.8 points in 18.6 minutes per game. The highlight of his first season with Stocktons would see him score 35 points in a game on two occasions in December 2019.

In his second season with the Stocktons, Vincent made three starts in 20 games, with an average of 23.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.30 steals per game. Vincent’s fine showings at Stockton would see him move to the Miami Heat on January 8th, 2020, in a two-way contract. The Nigerian made his NBA debut on January 29th, 2020, against the Orlando Magic. Also, Vincent was named the Most Improved Player on June 22nd, 2020, by the NBA G-League. He would make the finals of the NBA with the Miami Heat, but lost in six games to the Los Angeles Lakers. At the national team level, Gabe Vincent plays for the Nigerian national team and was instrumental in the team’s 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup outing.
