Chika would toe the path of his father (service to Nigeria) but on the sporting front. Chika, a taekwondo professional, made the headlines during the qualifiers of the All Africa Games in 2003. He won bronze in the taekwondo heavyweight category and qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Despite losing his first bout to Pascal Gentil, his father believed in his son’s talent and funded him through intensive training that would make him one of the best taekwondo professionals Nigeria has seen.
