What is it really like to own and run a successful beauty house in Nigeria? From what we learned from Adebimpe Adeyi, CEO and Founder, Brownies Beauty World, we can say it takes passion, lots of free jobs at first and faith in oneself (and God of course). Connect Nigeria had a little chat with the go-getter and former model on her journey to building her one-stop beauty home. CN: What inspired the business name – Brownies? AA: The name Brownies was inspired by my then favourite colour, I loved brown and nude colours. CN: Why did you choose beauty as a business to venture in? AA: I chose beauty because it’s what I have a passion for, I can’t ever get tired of anything that has to do with beauty. When you love doing something even without the monetary benefit, you just love doing it. CN: What were the most challenging moments in growing your business and how did you scale through them? AA: The most challenging time was when I was new; I had to first get recognized and accepted, do a lot of free jobs, and a lot of marketing to prove to people this is what I can do. ‎After awhile we started getting referrals from different clients, and that has really helped us get to where we are today. CN: You’ve worked with several successful fashion shows and you have a huge client base. What has been the most successful moment for Brownies Beauty World? AA: Yes, we have worked with lots of clients and done fashion shows. Every moment is a successful moment for us especially because our clients are always satisfied with our work. ConnectNigeria_Brownies CN: What would you say makes Brownies Beauty World unique from your competitors? AA: Brownies Beauty World is unique because it’s a one-stop beauty house. We are into makeup, skincare, spa, nails, lashes, massages, and we even offer weight- loss programs and much more. We render these services as well as sell beauty products and also do training. We run a full beauty school. CN: Is it true that you had your beauty training outside of Nigeria? Why? AA: Yes, all of my training was done outside of Nigeria. As a trainer, I always want to learn from a standard organization so I impact that into my own students. CN: Who inspires you? AA: Wow, who inspires me? I would say I inspire myself. I am someone who believes the sky is just the starting point, I’m a go-getter, I set a list of things I must achieve every year and I go for it. With God on my side! Nothing is impossible. CN: What book really changed your mindset about business and life in general? AA: My Bible Contact Information: Brownies Beauty World Address: 4, Irewole Avenue, Awosika B/Stop by TFC, Opebi , Ikeja, Lagos Tel: +23414548084, +234 802 810 7684, +234 803 438 9954 Email: browniesbeautyworld@gmail.com Website: http://www.browniesbeautyworld.com, BB pin: 2B37980E
