Social Media Marketing
With the advances in technology, every business can create a social media account for free. There is free access to reach the world, away from your small local shop or outlet. Gone are the days where creating a website was the only channel to give your business online presence. Now, you can simply reach your prospects on social media, chat with your customers, respond to queries, and sell your products/services, all within the social media space.
Join groups and forums
This is one of the underrated strategies for online marketing. A lot of businesses do not leverage this. Join groups, forums and communities like the ones provided by Facebook, ClubHouse, Nairaland, etc.
Engage in conversations with the group members, and proffer solutions to them when and where necessary. Provide value to them. With the permission of the group admins, you can also post your product or service and create awareness around your brand. Especially if you are just starting out with a few customers or audience, this can be a great way to jump in front of an already existing traffic, and pull some of them to your brand. However, these groups and forums should be niche related, so you don’t end up advertising to the wrong audience.
Ask for referrals
This is essentially where affiliate marketing come in. Naturally, when someone makes use of a product and is satisfied, they are liable to refer others to do it. But this can be taken a step further when you make your already existing customers affiliates. Now, even when they do not feel like it, for the fact that something will get into their pockets, they will be glad to refer others to use your product.
You can create an affiliate link for your customers, so they can invite others, and get a discount on their next purchase or get instant bonus for the referrals.
Engage in CSR
Engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility is a great way to paint a pleasant picture of your brand in the minds of the general public. Sponsor events and give to charity in the name of your business. Reach out and host beneficial competitions where qualified candidates win cash prices, essential gifts or scholarships, depending on your financial capability.
CSR practices show that you are not just in business for the profits alone, but that you also care about the needs of your community and are ready to give back. Promote the events and let the world see how genuine and good your brand is. This makes more people to be attracted to your brand, which in turn, generates more leads for you.
