The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations highest goal scorer’s deal expired on Sunday, May 31, 2020, but he has returned to training with the Red Devils following the deal. Ighalo, 30, has accounted for four goals out of eight appearances since joining the club last summer scoring in each of his starts against Club Brugge, Derby County, and LASK. The absence of Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba due to injuries saw Ighalo fit in perfectly in Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s plans, it will be interesting to see how he fits into the team as both players are back from injury. For Ighalo, this is time to prove that he deserves a permanent deal with his booyhood dream club. If things work out perfectly, the chances of bringing him to Old Trafford will be greatly boosted.
