By David Stephen. Consolidating the New Law on Traffic in Lagos by directives to prevent breaking it, the Lagos State Government has stated its intention to ban smoking in public places. This single step is actually a double step for the global war-on-smoking campaign globally and the provision of the new law that people should avoid smoking or drinking while driving. Smoking or drinking in public places, also covers smoking or drinking while driving – with chances that one may lead to the other – prompting the Lagos Government to mull on declaring this laws. Plans and course for action including how the law will be implemented and its effect on the society will be released to the public.

  • I support the Government on this. I hope the govt will be able to fully enforce its traffic laws, because we desperately need sanity on our roads


  • They should also campaign against smoking not just smoking in public places…na wa oooo cart before the horse.
