Nigerian youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho, celebrated his first start in a Manchester City shirt with a goal and assist in 5-1 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday in the Capital One Cup. Iheanacho, who announced his arrival to English football with a last-minute winner against the same opponents in the English Premier League, started the game in blistering fashion bringing out top-saves from Wayne Hennessey in Palace goal. He laid on a sublime pass for Belgium International Kevin De Bruyne to double City’s lead just before the interval. De Bruyne then returned the favour in the second half and set-up Ihenacho for his goal with an exquisite cut-back. His performance was enough to earn him the man of the match award, as voted by City’s fans. He is highly rated at the Ettihad Stadium and has already made six substitute appearances under Manuel Pellegrini in the Premier League this season.
