This October, the Interior Design Excellence Awards will again celebrate and honour excellence in the Architectural and Interior Design industry in Nigeria. According to Titi Ogufere, the Founder and Director of IDEA who spoke at a press briefing in Lagos, this year’s event – which is the 2nd edition of the IDEA – will grant participants the opportunity to meet a selection of Nigeria’s architectural /designers’ elite, showcase their products, get acquainted with award winners and judges and also increase their brand recognition at a global scale. The IDEA is an annual independent design award programme for practitioners in the architecture, interior design, real estate and construction fields. This year’s event is themed, Design and the Economy: Position Your Brand for Success and will attract over 2000 delegates from Nigeria, Italy, United States and Hong Kong with a selection of national and international speakers such as Shasi Caan, Principal, The Collective US, UK, Michael Thomson, Director, Design Connect Panel Moderator, Susan Szenasy, Editor of Metropolis, New York based magazine on Architecture and Design, Roberto Archetti, Brand Director of Poltrona Frau, Doug de Villiers CEO Interbrand Africa, Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Folusho Phillips, the Executive Chairman of the Phillips Consulting Group among others. They will take participants through topics such as interior design from a global perspective, building a structure that meets local and global needs, brand positioning and more.
