Several factors can affect the effectiveness of your social media pages. One of them is engagement. A lack of or inefficient engagement goes a long way in hindering your visibility and eventual revenue that could be generated from social media platforms.
In this case, you need to revisit your social media strategy and ensure you increase engagement. In this article, I will be sharing with you some tips on how to increase your social media engagement.
Grow your audience
It would be best if you first had an audience you want to engage. You will need to have a reasonable number of followers. This can be done by building a strong brand identity, following relevant accounts, running ads and making your brand more visible to the public. With more followers, you can get more eyeballs on your brand, and more people will be liable to engage with your content.
Authenticity is the way to go if you want to increase your audience’s engagement with your brand. Your audience wants to know that you are not a robot but have human feelings. Your communication should not be all about cajoling your followers to come to patronize you.
Ask relatable questions, and engage them in quizzes and polls. You can also post funny content like memes to get them to like, comment on and share your posts.
Respond to followers
Communication is a two-way thing. As your followers comment on your posts, you must respond to them. Like and respond. You can even ask questions or answer queries via the comment section. This encourages others to engage as well. In the long haul, you are building a strong communication channel, which will be essential to the overall success of your brand.
Create quality content
It is not enough that your content is timely or funny. It is more important that you assess the quality of the content. Your text content should be well-written and edited without errors. Your visual (video and graphic) content should be of great quality production and design.
The quality of your content determines a lot when it comes to engagement. The content might be valuable, but if it isn’t presented attractively, it will be difficult for your audience to engage with it.
People are highly visual, especially in this time and age. So, to grab their attention, you must produce quality content. Your captions and headlines should be enticing. Your CTAs should also interest your audience, so they will be more persuaded to take action.
Using hashtags is a great way to get your brand in the faces of people who are not your followers. Do proper hashtag research, and list hashtags that relate to your brand and specific content. Follow related hashtags too. When making posts, add short-tail and long-tail hashtags to your posts. This will enable other people that follow such hashtags to see your posts.Featured Image Source: TBH Creative Blog
