  Today, we will be running through some very useful computer hacks that we hope you have not known before and will prove useful going forward.
  • To get a summary of a page or article on Google Chrome, download the Chrome extension, TDLR. The extension compresses the whole article into a summary and helps you decide if it is worth your while.

  • To switch between upper and lowercase letters in the word, highlight the text and then hold down SHIFT and F3. It changes cycle through lowercase letters, the first letter capitalized uppercase letters.
  • To re-open a browser tab you closed by accident, hold down CTRL+SHIFT+T.
  • Google Translate can come in handy if you need to review a document on the go and quickly. You could simply paste your full text in Google Translate and have it read it out loud. Great for proofreading.
  • When you save your Powerpoint document in .pps instead of .ppt, your file enters slideshow mode as soon as open it the next time.

  • You could scout and compare domain name prices on iwantmyname.com
  • SPACEBAR allows you scroll down a web page and SPACEBAR+SHIFT lets you do the opposite-scroll back.
  • Shopping in incognito could get you lower deals on booking flights online.
  • Looking to stay off social media for a bit, then look for SelfControl (an app).
  • Saving an Excel file in .xslb will reduce the size by three thirds.
