We all know the signs, in fact, we see them as they begin to develop. The changes in the body system, the wrinkles that were not there before and the black hairs that start changing to white. All the signs of ageing are usually very noticeable by the individual first before any other person. Ageing is a natural process whereby the body starts getting old and succumbs to the rules of Mother Nature. The ageing process is sure if one lives long enough, however, there are certain ways through which it can be slowed down or hastened up. Some habits age us faster while others help to delay the process. The following are some habits that can age you faster than normal:

    • Smoking: This common habit destroys the body system gradually. It has been linked to lung cancer and other respiratory diseases. Smoking affects most organs in the body system, weakening them and reducing their longevity. If you smoke, it is high time you stop doing so if you want to live long in good health. This habit is sure to age the body from the inside out prematurely.

    • Eating processed foods: A lot of chemicals are added to processed foods to make them last longer and preserve their taste. Not all of these chemicals are good for the body, in fact, some of them have been proven to damage fragile organs of the body if they are consumed for so long. As much as possible, stay away from processed foods and eat home-made foods that are healthy. Regular consumption of junk and processed foods can quicken the ageing process in the human body.

    • Stressing yourself: Some people have such hectic lifestyles that allow them little or no rest. Stress is one of the major factors that cause the body to start ageing prematurely. To delay ageing, one has to avoid activities that stress the mind and body out. Overworking and constant worrying should be avoided. The body needs ample rest and sleep to be in optimal condition for a long period of time.

    • Consuming too much sugar: Sugary foods and drinks contribute to premature ageing of the body. Research has shown that regular consumption of foods and drinks that have a high sugar content influences normal body metabolism through accelerated cell ageing. This can lead to having wrinkles and saggy skin at a young age.
