According to an article by Business News Daily, a sales funnel “describes the steps an individual takes on the way to becoming your customer“. There are different stages of the buyer’s journey, and each of these stages are significant to the end result. These stages are awareness, interest, decision and action stages.
In the awareness stage of the sales funnel, your prospective customers are still trying to get accustomed to your product. They are just learning about it for the first time.
In the interest stage, they must have had a background knowledge of your brand, and since they have shown interest by checking out your website or social media pages, your content at this point should be educative and informative. It should contain solutions around your niche.
The decision stage sells to your customers. Here, you can go all out advertising to them and compelling them to make purchases or subscriptions.
The action stage is where they finally get to patronize you. Sustain the excitement and do well to follow up with them after. You need to have a good grip on this, so you can monitor your leads until they become paying customers. I will give you a guide on how to build your own sales funnel and get massive results. Read on!
Create a landing page
Your landing page should clearly define who you are, what you offer and why you exist.
It should portray your products and services in the best light, as this might be your only opportunity to impress a first timer. Create a captivating copy that will intrigue your prospects.
Offer a freebie
This should also be found on your landing page. Create something of great value and make it free for people to get. It is called a “lead magnet”. It could be a free e-book, guide or webinar. To access the freebie, have themregister their email addresses. This will help you compile your list for your email marketing campaigns.
Create valuable content
Now that you have them on your page, what next? You need to engage them, so they can get more interested in your brand and possibly make a decision to subscribe to your product or service. Create educative content that will keep them coming back for more.
Entice them
You don’t just want your prospects to consume your content and run away, you need them to make the commitment, right?
Entice them with discount codes, flash sales, coupons, free trials and product demo. Let them have a glimpse of the full package they can get if they commit to your brand.
Follow up
Whether or not they make the purchase at first or not, follow up with them. Emails are extremely effective. Tailor them to be as personalised as possible, so your prospects know you are interested in them. Limit exclamation marks and email subjects like “buy now” or “free”, with no personalization. It will only end up in their spam folders.
Pull your prospects into your inner circle and keep in touch with them, whether or not they make purchases. In the process, also share educational content and possible answers to their unique questions.
