It is time to get fit and healthier by using exercise as a major tool. Exercise can be done in various forms and for different reasons, they can help you strengthen your muscles, lose weight and generally keep your body fit and trim. The type and frequency of exercise depend on the outcome you are hoping for, you may need to just lose a few pounds here and there or you might be looking for an exercise routine that will keep you in top shape. All these are achievable by choosing the right type of exercise with or without the help of a personal trainer. But before you start the exercise proper, here are a few things you should do:
1. Change your diet: A diet simply consists of all the things we eat, the times we eat them and the proportion of the food. If you want your exercise to prove very useful, try changing your diet. For example, reduce oily food intake and watch your tummy get flatter. If you are hoping to lose general body weight, stop eating late into the night so that the body can have adequate time to properly digest your food.
2. Make a playlist: Motivation is very important not just in the beginning of the exercise, but also during it. To better motivate yourself not to give up halfway, make a playlist that consists of all the songs that encourage and motivate you, then listen to it whenever you are exercising to remind you not to lose focus.
3. Have a reasonable goal: Exercise does not show results within a day or two, it takes weeks of consistent work to get to where you want to be. Know that you need a reasonable goal to reach so that you will not be discouraged to stop. This goal should be set before starting the exercise so that you can monitor your progress within the amount of time set aside for it.
4. Consult your doctor: Do not compare yourself with others as each person has a different tolerance level and may not be able to do the things others can do easily. Before starting any rigorous exercise routine, ensure that you discuss with your doctor to rule out the ones your body might not be able to handle or the strenuous ones that pose a risk to your health.
5. Look the part: You surely do not want to look ridiculous in your exercise attire. For example, if you are learning to swim, then you know you need to acquire comfortable swimsuits. The same goes for different forms of exercise, you might have to go shopping for sweatpants, sports bras, sneakers and a water bottle, this entirely depends on you, though. Just make sure you get comfortable before and during exercise.
