Facebook is a web-based, interactive network that allows users to share information and shared interests across political, economic, social and geographic borders. As a way of aligning itself with small and medium size enterprises across Africa, Facebook has launched its Nigerian SME Council, the first of its kind across the continent. It is created to help boost SME development in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. Using Nigeria as its base, Facebook plans to reach out to other African countries and help develop their SME ecosystem. The SME Council consists of 15 vibrant start-ups and established SMEs across a wide range of industries. It sets to bring together Facebook Africa’s SME team and Nigerian business owners in a partnership that would provide better digital tools for business and customer growth. According to This Day, Each business is expected to bring along with them a wealth of experiences that would help in understanding the digital and mobile strategies as well as help to reach the Nigerian customer. The Nigerian council joins ten other SME Councils across the globe such as North America, Ireland, the Uk, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, Poland, India, and Brazil. Photo: Pulse.ng
