Dangote-Cement-PLC

Dangote Group will build a new $350 million cement factory in Niger, Nigeria’s neigbhour to the north. The Chairman of the Group, Alhaji, Aliko Dangote announced this, after he met with Niger’s President Issoufou Mahamadou in the past week. Dangote said it is “Part of a continent-wide drive to boost output.”  Dangote Group is projects 55 million tonnes of cement by 2016. “I announced to the head of state my intention to build a cement plant worth $350 million which will produce 1.5 million tonnes (annually). The realisation of this project will create 6,000 to 7,000 jobs. The plant would produce its own electricity with an anticipated surplus.”
