The Coca-Cola Nigeria Ltd has encouraged Nigerians to choose a healthy lifestyle by reducing their sugar intake and eating more fruits. This advice was given by the Company Marketing manager, Stills and Favour, Mr Gbolahan Sanni at the launching ceremony of three new variants for the Five Alive Juice on Tuesday.

Fruits and vegetables are full of beneficial vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and other nutrients. They are also high in fibre and contain few calories. Therefore, replacing some higher-calorie foods with fruits and vegetables has been shown to help people eat fewer calories, and thus control body weight.

News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, had earlier reported that eating more fruits daily either through eating or drinking, makes one healthy. In lieu of this, Coca-Cola Ltd has introduced drinks with more natural content to the market.

According to Vanguard Newspaper, the new variants would contain natural and local fruits such as pineapple, apple, mango, passion fruit and orange, also contain vitamins and minerals unlike the regular carbonated drinks made from chemical compounds and sugar and would be beneficial to one’s health, regardless of the number of bottles that are consumed.
