Super Eagles top gun and Chelsea forward Victor Moses has likened the Nigeria senior men’s football squad to English top flight Chelsea FC. In an interview with the media, Moses described the Super Eagles squad as brave and dauntless “Nigeria was the first African country to qualify for the world cup. We are like Chelsea. We believe in ourselves. Chelsea has loads of games coming up. We’ve got a great squad, and the manager we have here, we know what we are capable of.” The Super Eagles forward who played for England from U-16 to U-21 opted to play for Nigeria and has affirmed that he’s had a lot of fun vibing with the team and representing the country as they made an impressive world cup qualification. Moses also disclosed that 2017 was probably the most interesting year he’s had throughout his career both on and off the pitch. “For me, it’s definitely the top – my best year so far, on and off the pitch. It’s been a great year for me. I’ve really enjoyed it, but want to keep it going.” In the year 2017, the 27-year-old played a major role in helping Nigeria qualify for the world cup, he also got married and won a championship medal proving his worth to Antonio Conte’s side. Nevertheless, last year Moses failed to make the final list to become African Player of the Year. The NFF took this as a spite and considered the decision shallow. Victor Moses, however, made peace with the decision as he added, “I must have done well. It felt good to be nominated. I’ve worked so hard. It’s a bit crazy and shows how far I’ve come.”
