fifa   The stage is all set and dice have been cast for the 2014 World Cup which commences today in Brazil. Brazil is desperate to make a powerful statement of intent in today’s World Cup opener against Croatia as they seek to relieve the suffocating pressure that has engulfed the team in the build-up to the tournament. Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has the luxury of being able to field the same team that destroyed world champions, Spain, 3-0 in the final of last year’s Confederations Cup, with Barcelona star Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, the focal point of a powerful and settled line-up. However let’s digest what we will expect to see at this year’s World Cup. Opening Ceremony: People like to get the first taste of a country’s culture via the opening ceremony. Given Brazil’s history and rich culture, one can’t help but expect one of the best opening ceremonies in the history of the World Cup. Great Goals: Every football tournament always provides goals for televisions delight, but in the World Cup only great goals are counted as goals by the audience. The world will be looking forward to seeing great goals from great footballers starting with today’s opener between Brazil and Croatia where Neymar is bound to shine. Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Lionel Messi are also expected to lead the goal list. Bizarre Goal Celebrations: The World Cup has a way of producing unique and bizarre goal celebrations. Who can forget the goal celebrations of Roger Mila, Daniel Amokachi, among others? Sit back, relax and enjoy some wonderful goal celebrations during this mundial. New Jerseys & European League Stars: What is a World Cup without the world’s greatest stars and technicians of the game? This World Cup doesn’t lack great footballers with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerald, Mario Balotelli, Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben, Andrea Pirlo, and our own Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel set to charge their various teams against their opponents. The Glory Around the Eventual Winners: We will pass through tough matches, great skills, dramatic ties, mouth watering encounters and eventually the winner will emerge; the crème de la crème of the World Cup. The glory, the celebration, and scene around the stadium creates a stage that cannot be beaten by any other. Just relax and enjoy the World Cup ride.
