Logistics companies are a vital part of the long-distance trading setup. Without them, much of the formal sector would have to improvise delivery systems or rely on other less than satisfactory means to send or receive cargo. They’d be struggling with greater transportation risks, bigger costs, and ultimately, much smaller markets and profit margins.

Tranex is one of a large number of courier brands operating in Nigeria’s ever-expanding logistics industry. The company’s delivery vans and motorcycles, marked with its green and orange logo, are helping customers move tons of parcels and heavy material across states on a daily basis.

Tranex- short for Trans-Nationwide Express -ranks as one of the top indigenous courier companies in Nigeria. They’ve been in business for over three decades, and have a presence in every state capital. A sign of their strength is the fact that they’re one of only a couple of logistics companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). However, it’s the staying power and extensive service offered by the company that makes it a trusted name in the courier space.

Cargo delivery forms the core of Tranex’s operations, as it has since its earliest days. Its fleet of motorcycles, delivery vans, buses and trucks traverse the length and breadth of the country, collecting and dispatching simple packages and huge consignments alike. These vehicles are able to deliver goods to some of the remotest parts of the country. Parcels can be delivered in a matter of hours if the destination is within Lagos; farther afield, cargo may reach drop off points in two days, if they’re a great distance away.

Apart from regular commercial deliveries, Tranex also ships sensitive bio-pharmaceutical supplies on behalf of medical facilities. They have a specialized service for this- a bio-pharma cold chain solution. Vehicles facilitating this service are fitted with refrigerators for biochemical material and pharmaceutical products. Packaging for sensitive medical products is also available.

Tranex offers short and long-term storage facilities for businesses. Its warehouses guarantee full traceability for all goods stored within their racks and compartments. A batch numbering and tagging system makes the identification of stored goods easier. Security is taken care of by trained guards, supported by CCTV cameras.

Tranex’s delivery services extend beyond Nigeria. Because they have developed partnerships with other logistics companies elsewhere, they are able to transport customers’ goods to over 200 countries and territories.

Other services offered by Tranex include mailroom management. This service takes care of incoming and outgoing parcels for corporate bodies and frees them to concentrate on more important aspects of their operations.

Crucially, Tranex guarantees that all of its cargo in transit are insured. Given the uncertainties associated with moving goods over long distances, this almost certainly draws sighs of relief from this brand’s customers.
