The World Bank Legal Internship Program aims to offer participants hands-on exposure to the World Bank’s day-to-day activities by closely collaborating with Legal Vice Presidency staff. As integral members of the World Bank team, interns will have the opportunity to contribute to the legal services provided by the Legal Vice Presidency and engage in significant events and conferences organized during their internship tenure.

Duties

Internship duties encompass a diverse range of legal assignments under the guidance of supervising lawyers, including:

  • Researching assigned issues using various sources
  • Analyzing information, and presenting findings
  • Undertaking comparative legal analyses
  • Identifying legal and policy issues, researching relevant precedents, and proposing viable solutions.
  • Participate in task/project teams
  • Assist in conference and meeting organization

Eligibility

  • Enrollment in an LLB, JD, LLM, SJD, PhD, or equivalent legal academic program during the internship period.
  • Proficiency in the English language is also essential.

  • Proof of enrollment in a qualifying legal degree program, academic transcript(s)
  • A short essay addressing a research question posed by the Legal Vice Presidency for the current application cycle.
