The 2016 Farafina Trust Creative Writing Workshop will take place from June 21 to July 1, 2016. The workshop is organized by award-winning author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and is sponsored by Nigerian Breweries Plc. At the workshop, Caine-Prize winning writer, Binyavanga Wainaina, Aslak Sire Myhre and other writers will co-teach alongside Adichie. The objective of the workshop is to improve the craft of writers and the art of storytelling for published and unpublished writers. At the 10-day workshop, successful participants will be assigned a wide range of reading and writing exercises. To apply, send an email to udonandu2016@gmail.com. Email subject should read “Workshop Application”. Body of the application should contain:
  1. Your Name
  2. You Address
  3. A few sentences about yourself
  4. A writing sample between 200 to 800 words, which must be either fiction or non-fiction.
No attachments are allowed; all materials must be written or pasted in the body of the email. Deadline for submission is May 20, 2016, and successful participants would be notified on the 10th of June.  Accommodation in Lagos will be provided for all successful applicants who are able to attend for the ten-day duration of the workshop. A literary evening of readings, open to the public, will be held at the end of the workshop on July 1, 2016.
