The Kaduna State Government has begun receiving applications from young Nigerians who want to take part in its Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship for the year 2022. It is calling on young Nigerians from across the country who aspire to be leaders in a public service capacity to apply for the program.

The Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship (KIF) Program runs with the aim of identifying and supporting young Nigerians who want to make a difference by taking on leadership roles. It exists to build a network of such people who will fill critical governance positions within the next decade.

Since its launch in 2018, the KIF has selected and trained 16 fellows in each of its annual cohorts. It will be looking to achieve the same numbers in 2022. The fellows will be chosen through a rigorous process.

The program is made up of four components: work placement, education program, community service, and fellowship.

Benefits

Persons who are selected to be KIF fellows will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Be paid salaries and receive benefits corresponding to that of a Special Assistant to the Governor.
  • Live in a fully furnished one-bedroom apartment and receive breakfast, all for free and for the fellowship’s duration.
  • Gain skills that are needed to successfully serve as leaders in various capacities, especially in the public sector.
  • Get the chance to connect with a network of aspiring and emerging leaders in the public sphere.

Eligibility

Applicants to the program are expected to meet these conditions:

  • Be a Nigerian aged between 25 and 35 years old as of the time of applying.
  • A graduate of an accredited University.
  • Must have completed the NYSC program.
  • ave a record of integrity, and a capacity for critical, strategic and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Be willing to reside in Kaduna for the duration of the program.

The 16 fellows who will participate in this program will be drawn from diverse religious, ethnic, and gender backgrounds, and will represent varying geographic, educational, and economic experiences.

Applications will remain open until 14 March 2022.
