About AWC

The American Women’s Club in Lagos is a non-profit organization, founded in the 60’s by emigrant American women living in Nigeria at the time. The goal of the club is to drive positive change in Lagos by inspiring its members to give back to their immediate community, thereby collectively impacting the country for the better. For over 55 years, the club has kept to its word through its numerous philanthropic efforts driven towards the underprivileged child living in Lagos. The success story of the club since its early days up till now deserves recognition — from giving full scholarships to over 4,000 Nigerian individuals who are now doing well in their various fields, to raising millions for charity organizations through its Small World Charity project, the club has impacted  countless Nigerians immensely.
