  Nigerian national women’s football team, the Super Falcons are ready to fly against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa in the final game of the maiden edition of the Aisha Buhari Cup (ABC).

Nine-time champions, Nigeria, narrowly beat South Africa via penalties in the final of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana and will be looking to beat the South Africans in normal time on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos State, when hostilities commence by 4 pm (WAT). The Super Falcons beat the Female Eagles of Mali, 2-0, in the opening game of the tournament on Wednesday, September 15, courtesy of a brace from substitute, Monday Gift, while the South Africans beat the Black Queens of Ghana, 3-0, in their first game on Friday, September 17. Nigeria’s Monday Gift tops the goal scorers chart with two goals out of the total eight scored in the tournament so far and will be looking to improve her tally on Tuesday evening. ABC’s format saw all six participating teams feature in two games. The team with the highest number of points will be crowned champions. The Cameroonian national team finished at the bottom of the table after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Morocco in their first game, and a 2-0 loss to Ghana in their second game.

Mali is fifth on the log after their defeat against Nigeria and a 0-0 draw against Morocco. Though Ghana beat Cameroon in their second game, the 3-0 loss to South Africa in their opener condemned the Black Queens to fourth place on the table. Morocco currently tops the table with four points but will wait for the final result to know their stand.
