The GoGettaz Agripreneur Competition awards prizes to entrepreneurs in the agribusiness space contributing to the improvement of agriculture, agro-enterprise, and the aspects of human life and endeavour that spawn from these. This year, the competition’s judges will review entrants for relevance to rural livelihoods, technology, gender impact, and job creation, among other concerns.

These are some of the benefits that may be secured through this competition:
  • Two $50,000 grand prizes to be given to overall winners (total of $100,000)
  • Impact awards for solutions that improve rural livelihood, gender impact, natural resource conservation, nutrition, job creation and technology

Eligibility

This competition is open to persons who meet the following criteria:
  • Applicant must be below 35 years old and legally recognized as an adult in their country
  • Be a cofounder or founder of the venture that he or she is representing
  • Should have no criminal record related to financial impropriety
  • The venture must be legally registered in an African Union member country
  • Designed to be financially sustainable either as a for-profit or non-profit
  • Should be operating in or around one of these areas: Agrifood research and development, primary food production, crop nutrition, irrigation, mechanization and automation/robotics, crop protection, hydroponics, food retail, packaging and marketing, digital technology for agrifood sector, and renewable energy for agrifood sector, among others
