As the new government takes over the reins of power, it’s important to know at least a few basic things about our new leaders and their families. Here are a few things worth knowing about our new first lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari:
- The mother of five – Amina Buhari, Halima Buhari Sheriff, Yusuf Buhari, Zarah Buhari, and Aisha Buhari – prefers to be addressed as the wife of the President of Nigeria rather than “First Lady”.
- She has a Bachelor’s in Public Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in International Affairs & Strategic Studies from Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA).
- She is a trained esthetician with diplomas in Cosmetology and Beauty from institutions in Paris and London
- She is the author of The Essentials of Beauty Therapy and owns a spa and beauty institute in Kaduna and Abuja.
- She was born in Adamawa State and is fluent in English and Arabic.
The Buharis have been married for over 25 years.
