Women on an average buy about 5 pairs of high heeled footwears. Love it or hate it, women love to wear heels because it makes them feel more confident and compliments their shapes. Remember that song that taught us to be educated in order to join the adult heel crew?  Now, we are groomed to love our high heels.

Heels Endureth Forever:

Women wear heels comfortably from the ages of 16 till they are 60 years and above. Heels are every girl’s best friend that does not leave you except your feet gets weary.

Women need to wear high heeled shoes to complete their wardrobe:

They wear the high heels to look sexier and to enhance the shape of their legs. Women are said to love wearing high heels, despite the pain, for the sake of style or to look more attractive. Women are generally wrapped up in this love/hate relationship with high heels.

High Heels make Men more Helpful:

According to a research conducted by Nicolas Guéguen of the Université de Bretagne-Sud in France and published in the Nov. 19, 2014, edition of the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior, the women’s shoe heel sizes affected men’s behavior towards them.  Even though the participants of the research claimed that the behavior on the part of men may be related to the portrayal of models in high heels in advertising, you might still want to pay attention to your heels’ closet. It’s the secret magic recipe.

Heels were For Nobles:

Wooden soles were added by the nobles in the middle ages to prevent debris from touching their shoes. Their shoes were usually expensive and very light, hence the need for heels to prevent tears and stains. Heels were not a practice of mobility but of nobility. Back then, the high heel was a symbol of class, privilege, and power.

She Conquered With High Heels:

High heels for women originated with Catherine de Medici, a 16th-century Italian noblewoman who was short in stature and wanted to make an impression when she arrived in France to marry the future King Henry. The Prince was rumored to have a mistress who was tall, hence she added two-inch soles to compensate for her height.
Now let’s talk about tips that can help reduce back pain or heel pain caused by wearing high heels:
  • Limit the amount of time spent wearing high heels.
  •  Try alternating with good-quality athletic shoes or flats for part of the day.
  •  High heels that are too tight can intensify the abuse; it’s good advice to buy shoes in the afternoon since feet swell and tend to increase in size later in the day.
  • Limit your heels to an inch and a half or less, if not, try to avoid pointy stilettos instead, wear a thicker heel that will distribute your body weight more evenly.
  • Also, purchase insoles for all your heels to help with shock absorption
  • Take out time to stretch your calves.
