Felabration, the annual festival of music and arts commemorating the life and times of Nigerian music icon, the late Fela Anikulakpo Kuti will kick off officially on Monday 14th of October 2013 with “Fela Debate” to be chaired and moderated by Femi Falana (SAN), while Nana Rita Marley, Prof. John Collins, Vivien Goldman and Prof. Sola Olorunyomi are the speakers of the day. They will deliberate on the topic, ‘Movement of the People”- The Fela & Bob Marley Perspective at the NECA Hall, Hakeem Balogun Road, Central Business District, Alausa,Ikeja. Felabration has become an annual ritual since its inception in 1998, holding every year except for 1999. This year’s edition seeks to be better and bigger as African music stars will storm the New Afrikan shrine in the heart of Agidingbi, Ikeja to celebrate ‘Baba 70’ as Fela Kuti is fondly called by his fans. The music concert which is usually the high point of Felabration will begin on 15th of October and climax 20th of October at New Africa Shrine with various artistes warming the African shrine stage. On Tuesday 15th , DJ Jimmy Jatt will lead a pack of artistes including Larryd, Henry Knight, A Q, Od Woods, Orezi, Rayce, Ned, Eminic, Shank, Morell, Lace, Alabai, Minjin, Sehinde Joe, Olumoko, G4, Obelia, Basky, Omoakin, Flowsick, Shadow D Don And Shaka El to thrill the fans, as W4, Wizboy, Reminisce, Dj Xclusive & Dotun, Tunde Ednut, Skales, Lkt, Yq, Tillaman, Morachi, Sheyman, K9, Dj Zeez, Durella, Waconzy, Tolu Obey, Ak 47, Fokn Bois, Bandana, Lady Jay Wah, Sehinde Joe, Prince Wadada, Splash, Shoboi will all hit the stage on Wednesday 16th. Come Thursday 17th paramount king of Fuji, Obesere will headline the day as Temi Doll Face, Solid Star, Seyi Shay, Oritsefemi, Show Dem Camp, Efya, Dj High Fa Vs Benny P, Waje, Weird Mc, Shank, Zeynab, Ccc, Skuki, Biodun and The Black Beat, El, Afro Harmony Band, Ayetoro, Yaa Pono, Ahmed Sultan, Ame Agogo, Wura Samba, K Switch, KSB, Sean Tizzle, and Ara will also perform. DJs Spinall & Jimmie will entertain the audience alongside Young Grey C, Karma, Sound Sultan, Baba Dee, Ill Bliss, Chidinma, Phyno, May D , Burna Boy, General Pype, Mi , Ice Prince, Dammy Krane, Seriki, Wizkid, R2bees, Saheed Osupa , Biodun Batik, Eldee, Essence, and Jojo Body Beats on Friday 18th. The Afrobeat king’s son, Seun Kuti, will lead Tolu Obey, Bez, Duncan Mighty, Francis Goldman, Jesse Jagz, Diana Bada, Benny Paladin, Ras Kimono, Jacob, Blackmagic, Malaika, Ame, , Knni Lante, Ade Piper , Evergreen Band, Capital Femi, Joe El, Trace Scotch, Skel Stitch, Jaiye, Ray Sean on Saturday 19th at the African shrine.  On the final day of the music concert, Sunday 20th, reggae artiste, Kymani Marley will hit the stage alongside some of Niigeria’s best, like Davido, Wande Cole, Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid, D Prince, Omawumi, 2face, Iyanya, Femi Kuti, Remi Aluko, Gangbe Band, Jjc, and Eedris Abdulkareem. To round off the 2013 Felabration celebration, the Carnival will hold around the Ikeja vicinity of Lagos State on 19th October 2013, featuring rich Nigerian and African culture. Felabration, the week-long music and art event is organized by the Felabration Organising Committee. It attracts thousands of visitors annually to the New Africa Shrine from all over the world and is an official tourist destination of The Lagos State Government who is major sponsors of the event.
