Rainy season is usually between the periods of April to October in Nigeria. It is however very heavy in the month of June. Rains can be so very annoying especially after you’ve planned to go out and have fun, it just dulls your vibes. Well, some still take a risk and head out; Good luck to them! For those of us who decide to stay home, here are some helpful tips on how to entertain yourself during these periods: Cook for Fun: The best way to entertain yourself is to head to your pantry and cook for yourself. Cooking can be loads of fun when you try out fun new recipes. Don’t burn the house while doing this though, put on your thinking cap and create your own magically dish. Food network Channels on your television station or YouTube can help. Have a cooking marathon. You can even create a family cooking recipe. Sing Aloud: Sing aloud to all the songs on your playlists or till you run out of inspiration. Don’t worry about your croaked voice. This is more fun when you have someone around to get the good vibes with. Play Dress Up: Remember when you were little and you always wanted to try out older people’s clothes. Do it now. You can relive your younger days by matching outfits you will never get to wear. A fashion parade around your home with your friends, parents or siblings.  The goal is to have fun and look ridiculous but if you can sport a trendy look with complete makeup. Cool! Catch up on your reading: Those books you have piled up on your book shelves as gifts, or personal collection. Pick up any one and read. It does not matter if it’s dog eared, or has being read over time or is fairly new, just pick it up and read. Curl up in your bed with a drink at hand. It may even be a magazine or a newspaper or a blog. This is a good way to pass the time quickly. Play A Game: Games necessary do not have to be one with gadgets that use batteries.  Card games, board games or any kind of game can work. Gather your family around and remind yourself of the games you played as a child. Singing games or games with words or even playing puzzles can help reduce boredom. Plan a Vacation: Use this period to take out time and plan a vacation out of your busy schedule. Get details of places you wish to visit. At the least, you get to learn a tiny bit about a city and their culture. At most, you prepare for a well-deserved holiday ahead. Make A Shopping List: Rather than getting worked up about your cancelled shopping spree, make a shopping list of all the things you need to buy. This works as you dream about all the luxury products you can get. Exercise: Keep yourself physically fit even if you cannot visit the gym. Dance, do squats, or any other thing that you are most comfortable with. Repair Old Stuffs: now is time to pay attention to things around the house you have ignored. Repair the leaking faucets, roofs. Mend your torn old clothes. Arrange the house. Redecorate your home
