Young Entrepreneurs Network (YEN), is a brainchild of the Masterpiece Resource Development Centre (MRDC). YEN was established in 2008 to raise an entrepreneurial community that will engage, connect, synergise and network with one another so that their businesses will become successful, sustainable and trans generational.
On the 27th and 28th of Septemeber 2016, YEN holds her 7th Annual Conference, Connect 2016, and it is geared towards achieving the following objectives:
- Help participants understand the value of relationships in business. This includes relationships with suppliers, customers, investors, influencers, etc. Relationships connect people together and create a platform for greater effectiveness through collaboration.
- Help participants understand the importance of the God-factor in business. This lends itself to all of the core values earlier mentioned. Connecting with God connects you to all things right; hence the importance of this objective.
- Help participants interpret and understand the macroeconomic realities as it relates to their own business operations. This lends itself to the business growth value. Furthermore, this objective enables entrepreneurs to identify and connect with the hidden opportunities in the current economy. This is especially true when we consider the fact that business leaders across the world agree that great entrepreneurs use bad economic times to their advantage.
- Help participants understand the connecting power of a well thought-out brand. This lends itself to the sales increase and sustainability value. It also helps businesses communicate and connect effectively with their customers, consumers, and advocates.
- Teach participants to leverage technology as a tool to drive down cost, build networks, and grow the business. With the current economic realities, this objective lends itself to all the core values. In addition, leveraging technology enables participants to connect their products and services with the right buyers in new and existing markets.
- Educate participants who are just about to start businesses on startup fundamentals. Considering the modern-day economic realities, this objective connects the prospective entrepreneurs to the right resources and information which will enable them to build thriving businesses.
