The voter card is a smart card based voter ID that stores voters’ information, such as bio-data, biometrics and facial image. It will be used for verification and identification of voters during elections. The card is for every adult Nigerian from the age of 18 and above.
Though the deadline for collection of the card was on 30th November, 2014, residents of Lagos state who were unable to collect the card during the specified time of collection can still get the voter card from the INEC office in various Local Government Areas of the state as applied.
