WhatsApp, a messaging platform has launched a new service, WhatsApp Business, which is aimed at small businesses that have used their accounts, a step closer to monetizing its free platforms.
Currently, WhatsApp is focusing on getting the small businesses on its platforms for free, although it has plans to charge small businesses in the future. The app had been launched on Google Play in Indonesia, Mexico, Italy, the U.K and the U.S, it is sure to launch around the world in the coming weeks.
According to WhatsApp Chief Operating Officer, Matt Idema, as revealed by Guardian Newspaper, people would be permitted to use the WhatsApp platforms, as usual, the only difference is that there would be a verified green checkmate business badge next to the account information.
This is exciting as there would be no need to download any new information, as the WhatsApp users still have the control over their messages. The only difference is that your business would be able to create a company profile with information such as address, business hours and a description of the product and service offered, also the account would have a web interface. The messaging tool would, also, assist businesses in managing their consumer chats.
