Werder Bremen Striker, Joseph Akpala, Recalled to Super Eagles

Werder Bremen of Germany striker, Joseph Akpala has been recalled to the Super Eagles as a replacement for injured AFCON star, Emmanuel Emenike. Akpala, who recently returned from a lengthy injury layoff, is expected to play a part in Eagles’ summer matches. Eagles are scheduled to take on the Tri Color of Mexico in a friendly match on 31 May in Texas, USA before their World Cup qualifying matches against the Harambee Stars of Kenya and Brave Warriors of Namibia in June after which they head to to Brazil for the Confederations Cup. Nigeria face Tahiti, Uruguay and Spain in the group stages in Brazil.
