Thanks to a not-so-new feature on the YouTube app, you can now save your favorite YouTube videos for offline viewing. This is especially needful if you want to watch a video repeatedly, or you’re moving from a place that has good mobile network coverage to one with poor coverage, or maybe you just want to save data on streaming a video many times. Whatever it is, YouTube has you covered.
Below are few steps to making your video available offline.
- Open the YouTube app. If you do not have this app, you can download here (Android, iOS).
- Open the video that you wish to watch.
- Tap on the offline icon (circled in blue in the picture below) and choose the quality you want.
- You can view the download progress in the offline videos tab.
- You can always go to the Accounts tab and view your offline videos.
The feature may not be available for all the videos you want to save. There’s also a 48-hour cap for offline availability, but you may be lucky to have the video available for a longer time.
