Thanks to a not-so-new feature on the YouTube app, you can now save your favorite YouTube videos for offline viewing. This is especially needful if you want to watch a video repeatedly, or you’re moving from a place that has good mobile network coverage to one with poor coverage, or maybe you just want to save data on streaming a video many times. Whatever it is, YouTube has you covered.

Below are few steps to making your video available offline.

  1. Open the YouTube app. If you do not have this app, you can download here (Android, iOS).
  2. Open the video that you wish to watch.
  3. Tap on the offline icon (circled in blue in the picture below) and choose the quality you want. youtube-offline-1youtube-offline-2
  4. You can view the download progress in the offline videos tab.
  5. You can always go to the Accounts tab and view your offline videos. youtube-offline-3

The feature may not be available for all the videos you want to save. There’s also a 48-hour cap for offline availability, but you may be lucky to have the video available for a longer time.
