Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. ~ John 11:25
Our beloved contributor and friend, Roman Hammed Ajiboye, returned to his Creator yesterday, 20
th July 2015. The news came as a shock for the Connect Nigeria team, as Roman had been quite lively at our recently held Writers’ Conference, and we looked forward to his being strong enough to resume the writing which he loved so much.
Roman was a sweet, passionate and determined young man, who despite his severe health challenges, was able to do what many whose bodies are stronger, have not; he LIVED. He was an avid reader who loved to learn new things, and to share with others what he learnt.
His fresh and enlightening articles attest to this. Roman wanted to write, and he did. He wanted to love, and he loved. He wanted to know God, and he did. He loved books, read them voraciously, and dedicated his life to encouraging others to do same through his blog and the online bookshop which he just opened before his passing.
Roman made connections, touched lives, and let his light shine. He was always polite, always sweet, always determined to stay cheerful in spite of the weight of the burden of sickle cell anemia.
Connect Nigeria will miss him, and we pray that God will grant his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss. He was a gift given to us for a time, one that we will always be grateful for.
His gentle soul rests in peace.
