“This is the way to shop!” we overheard an excited guest say while browsing the stalls at the recently held 6th edition of the Simply Nigerian Fair.

SNF has always been a stand-out among the growing number of Lagos fairs and last Sunday’s outing did not disappoint.

Visitors began trooping into the lush setting of Garden Fusion Centre in Ikoyi as soon as the Fair opened at noon and they continued to stream in well into the early evening. Many were repeat customers who had previously enjoyed SNF’s unique ambiance. Others were first-time visitors curious to experience the Fair.

The general mood of the day was fun, fun, fun. At every corner you could see people chatting animatedly, hugging old friends, laughing, shopping, eating and most especially dancing. Sola Mogaji, aka Schullzz, curated the music and her top- notch playlist had shoppers young and old toe-tapping, head-bobbing and full-on grooving with Zanku, Shaku-Shaku and other moves on display.

Up and coming teenage artist City Flavour also performed a short live set, bringing more entertainment to the appreciative crowd.

The real stars of the Fair were the 70 vendors selling locally produced, grown or assembled products across six categories – food and drink; hair and body; home and lifestyle; fresh produce; fashion and footwear and plants and flowers. From the set-up of their stalls to the creativity of their packaging and the quality of their goods, the quality of the SNF vendors was impressive.

“We are always very proud of our vendors. It’s our joy to give these talented Nigerian entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their goods and services,”

SNF event director Linda Okome.

This edition of the Simply Nigerian Fair was opened by Mrs. Angela Emuwa, Chairman of Punch Newspaper Group, media partners to the Fair. Other media and corporate partners included Global Entrepreneurship Week Nigeria, Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of Pan-Atlantic University, House of Tara, Guardian Newspapers, Battabox, Business A.M., PostMyEvents and Connect Nigeria.
