Are a young person stirred up for change in Africa? Would you like to exchange ideas with fellow youth on your role in making this a reality? The Future Awards Africa will be travelling across the continent to hold town hall meetings for youths in August and September 2015. The tour is designed to set the pace for its upcoming awards ceremony in December. At these meetings, participants can expect to have meaningful dialogue on ways of tackling issues that affect them and their African communities at large. Nominations of young Africans creating much-needed change will also take place. The meetings are scheduled to hold in the following cities: Lagos (Saturday August 15th) and Kanp, Nigeria; Durban, South Africa; Dakar, Senegal; Accra, Ghana;  Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. “Young people across the continent are becoming increasingly aware that tackling the issues and collaborating on unique solutions can generate powerful multiplier effects that create wide-ranging impact—not only in their local communities and countries, but also in the rest of Africa,” said Mfon Ekpo, Executive Director, The Future Project (TFP) as cited in the organisation’s official press release. “We need to ensure these voices are heard and recognised as a rich source of inspiration and ideas that will transform our continent, and TFP is excited to help take these first steps.” This year’s TFP awards event has been themed Imagine Africa! and will reward those who are conquering the limits of imagination in providing solutions for Africa.
