020812-national-black-college-students-graduation-education   The Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) has through its Graduate Internship Scheme enlisted over 5000 graduates across the country for retraining and facilitation. The scheme which is designed to enhance the employability of up to 100,000 unemployed graduates across the 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT through internship programmes in interested public and private companies, firms and institutions, is aimed at reducing the unemployment rate amongst the youth. Enlisted graduates are attached to employers for a one year period during which they will receive payments based on the amount of work done. Graduates are expected to acquire  real life experience, receive training and get financial and other support at the end of the programme to help them stand on their own. To qualify, you must be a Nigerian, commit to spending one year, be between 18 – 35 years old, be a degree holder or equivalent, submit your CV online and have completed your NYSC or been exempted from it. Selection for the programme is then done from this pool of approved graduates on the basis of qualification, priority area of skills, location and equity into groups of three per vacancy and asking the companies to consider them as their choice to fill the vacancy available.   To apply or find out more information about the GIS, go to www.sure-p.gov.ng/cswye/index.php/su.
