Who is Mr Macaroni?
Born Debo Adebayo but popularly known as Mr Macaroni, he is an online comedian and an actor whose Instagram page has become a favourite pastime for many Nigerians. Mr Macaroni has a unique style of comedy and this has made him stand out on social media in recent times.Big Break
Mr Macaroni started his career as an actor before venturing into comedy. According to him, he never considered online comedy because he was already an established actor making movies and soap operas. As time went on, he gained inspiration seeing the likes of Maraji, Broda Shaggi, and others creating content that people loved. He started creating comedy skits after a company reached out to one of his producers for a short Youtube video. This was how Mr Macaroni brand was born.Behind The Scenes
Mr Macaroni is involved in the creation of all the content for his scripts. According to him, he finds inspirations and generates his ideas from everyday experiences and events.“I think its society, its there for every creator, for every artist be it an actor, a musician or anything you are doing. The society presents to you raw materials for you to use. You just need to open your eyes to see it. All of these things that we do, it happens. But sometimes it is birthed from our imaginations. So I like to say, things that I have seen, things that I see and things that I am yet to see,”he said.
Achievements and Future Plans
Mr Macaroni has gained a strong fanbase across several social media platforms and has fast become a fan favourite in the online comedy space. The Instagram sensation is known for popularising catchphrases such as “You’re doing well” and “Fantabulous” in Nigeria. Although social media is Mr Macroni’s current mainstay, he plans to explore other forms of media such as television.“I see myself more as a performer that can create as many characters as possible.
